No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates-
The No Surprises Ace protects people uncovered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills when they receive most emergency services and non-emergency services from out-of-network providers at in-network facilities- this includes mental health services.
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers must give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
This Good Faith Estimate will be provided to you before services will be completed.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
